Application Tips

  • Submit Your Application Via the Correct Portal  Applications must be submitted via the CVN application portal. The CVN application portal is similar to the SEAS (on-campus) program, however, the CVN site lists our three semesters (Spring, Summer, and Fall) and has an application fee of $150.  If applications are submitted to the incorrect program, you will be required to complete a brand new application so please check beforehand to be sure.
  • GRE General Test Scores Applicants must self-report their highest GRE scores on their MS and DES applications. If you have chosen to send your GRE scores directly to CVN from ETS, the organization administering the GRE, you are still required to enter your GRE scores onto your application. Although there are no minimum GRE scores required to apply to our degree programs, we recommend that applicants earn at least a 160 on the Quantitative section of the GRE. GRE scores expire after five years so verify with ETS that your GRE scores are current before applying to our degree programs
  • Follow Up with Your Recommenders  Only complete applications, including letters of recommendation, will be reviewed by the Admissions Committee.  Therefore, follow up with your recommenders to ensure that their letters of recommendation have been submitted. Admissions decisions are issued 4 - 6 weeks after your last letter of recommendation has been received.

Applications for more than one degree program cannot be processed simultaneously.

For answers to application questions, please review our FAQ page, or contact the CVN Records Team at (212) 854-6447.
